Price
The price is $3,390 per person (double occupancy), $4,590 (single occupancy) plus $943 for a special group rate airfare (see below.) The price includes 8 nights at a 4-star boutique hotel, airport transfers from Nice/Côte d'Azur airport to the hotel in Villefranche, 8 full breakfasts at the hotel, one 3-course meal per day (either lunch or dinner), personalized attention from Wendy, Steve and Alison, admissions to attractions, and local group travel in a chartered vehicle with a professional driver. You are responsible for transportation to and from JFK Airport, the balance of your meals, travel insurance and personal expenses like phone calls, laundry or special beverages.
Group Air Fare
There is a nonstop overnight flight from JFK to Nice, returning with a mid-day departure. We have reserved a group of tickets at $943 per person, which, as of September 15, saves more than $450 over the posted fare. To take advantage of this group fare, we need a minimum of 10 seats, which must be confirmed and paid for by January 15.
Travel Insurance
Things happen. We urge all participants to purchase travel insurance that will cover cancellation fees, accident and hospitalization and other such unlikely occurrences. You can learn about your options at Insure My Trip.
Passport
VERY IMPORTANT. Please be certain that your passport expires no earlier than six months after our departure date. This means your passport expiration date must be no earlier than October 23, 2016, and to be on the safe side you might add another month as a cushion. We know from unfortunate experience that it's no fun to discover the night before the flight that you will not be allowed to board the plane even though your passport has not yet expired! A visa is not required for a short visit to France.
Payment
We have had a great deal of interest in this trip! A number of people have said that they would be more comfortable with a later deadline for payment. It is possible to accept later payments without assuming additional risk, so we have revised the deadlines as follows:
- A commitment via email by December 1, 2015.
- Payment in full by January 15, 2016.
Cancellation Policies
Our cancellation policy is firm, and regardless of the reason for cancellation. We must observe this policy without exception in order to protect our vendors and ourselves. For this reason, we strongly urge you to take out trip insurance, available at Insure My Trip.
