About this trip...
The Côte d'Azur is famous for glitterati and movie stars, for royalty and the rich.
But there's so much more. The Mediterranean washes the rocky shores and sweeping beaches of the coastline, and the hills behind the shore rise rapidly to the foothills of the Alps, sprinkled with medieval towns, ancient history, and spectacular views. Let us take you to some of our favorite places for natural beauty, food, culture and, naturally, shopping. The idea for this gently guided tour was born over the years. We are three Francophiles who decided we wanted to share our love of the region with others. Our ideal is to take it slow. We keep the driving to a minimum and allow plenty of time for exploring, having a coffee, and just soaking in the atmosphere. We have excursions planned for every day, but of course these are always optional if you would rather stretch out on the beach or do something else. We will travel in a comfortable15-passenger bus, and there is room for a certain amount of improvisation. On a particularly nice day, we may do box lunches and have a picnic at a scenic spot. And in one or more of the places we visit, we may have local guides who can share their deep knowledge of history and lore. About Your Hosts

There is so much to see in this spectacular region, and we will only be scratching the surface. But maybe we will whet your appetite for future excursions à la découverte de la belle France.

Wendy Carroll
Wendy teaches French to students of all ages, from school-aged children to retirees, in Hunterdon and Bucks counties. She loves French language, culture and food and shares that love with her students. She'll probably make you sing, even if you don't take the French class before the trip. Just a warning.

Alison and Steve Howard
Alison and Steve are eager students of French, although he probably knew more in high school. They have visited the south of France many times. They just like being there, and have always talked about introducing others to the region's charms. He is a retired lifer in nonprofits, and she slipped the bonds of corporate life a few years ago.
